Research: Owen Holland has a background which combines both psychology and engineering. His principal research interests are collective robotics, behaviour based robot architectures and advanced hand protheses; he is also interested in the psychological aspects of human-robot interaction. Current industrial projects include the development of a prototype multi-robot portering system for a major service industry, and an evaluation of potential applications of collective robotics for a large manufacturing concern.
